An old piece of wood became a table

”My good friend Peter once gave me a beautiful piece of rosewood,” says Skovgaard. ”His late father was a cabinet maker and antique dealer, and had left his son an old farmhouse, which was filled with furniture and fine old wood. This gift became a hallway table, which is made to stand up against a wall.”

In contrast to the Oak tree, Skovgaard used Ash for the rest of the furniture. The lower shelf is shaped like a flat tray, which interlocks the legs with some special joints that Skovgaard developed specifically for this project. The legs are fixed in the tabletop with decorative wedge joints.
